The MANA Show

This Sacramento based podcast is the brain child of host Myki Angeline and produced by Noisy Snail Studios.  Joined by her cohost and good friend, DJ, these two bring spunk and witty humor to every episode.  They invite their guests to discuss controversial, sometimes slightly political topics which give the listeners a deeper, more personal side to each artist. Although most of their guests include local musicians, artists, photographers, and film enthusiasts, we interview entertainers from across the nation as well.

CoHost Demjuan “DJ” Julian

KSP_8741_pryor_c4_LR_WMActor, dancer, vocalist, and choreographer originally from Los Angeles, Demjuan Julian began a true love for life as an entertainer at a very young age. Getting his first big break as a block kid on Sesame Street, that experience changed his life. Demjuan knew he wanted to do and be more, So he set out a course of intense training for himself starting with dancing and acting.  At the age of 5 he learned classical ballet, Jazz, hip-hop, tap, Capoeira, traditional Polynesian form, and acting for the camera.

Utilizing his newfound dancing and acting skills Julian landed a role in the early 90’s as a Fox kid for the Fox Kid Saturday morning cartoon commercials. In search for a new role an opportunity arose to be a part of a theater production called  The Gentlemen of John Smith. This was his first theater production; a small-time children’s show which meant the world to Julian. Life moved him from Los Angeles to the lovely Sacramento in the early 2000’s. While in high school he auditioned for the musical You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown,  which led to his first lead role (Charlie Brown). After finishing high school Demjuan went back to Los Angeles to try his luck before heading to college, he got a few great opportunities being an extra on shows like That’s So Raven, and Cory In The House.  After finishing up in Los Angeles he took a break from the entertainment life for a few years and relocated to San Francisco to knock out a degree in psychology, because it’s always nice to have a backup plan. When he completed his degree, Julian headed back one last time to Sacramento and attended American River College; taking acting classes and joining their dance company. This gave him great exposure to the Sacramento Theater and Dance Community, which led to him doing countless shows like Pride and Prejudice, Hairspray, Sweeney Todd  Midsummer’s Night Dream, Gumbo – including opportunities to perform in operas and voice-over work in Sacramento. Julian’s talents expanded to directing and choreography for many shows like Gumbo, Decades of Love, Much Ado About Nothing. His most recent work has been with Cirque du Soleil 2014-2015 (dancer, choreographer), Citizens who care 2015-2016 (Writer, Director, Singer, Choreographer, Actor, Dancer) , and with  The MANA Show 2015-2016 (Co-Host) which he loves.
